Intelligent Paperless Inspection with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)

DIMATE GmbH, April 5, 2024

Webinar Overview

Many inspection processes lack interfaces between systems, such as those between the inspection management system (i.e., IDMS or APM) and digital radiography equipment. This results in manual entries, disrupted processes, and unstructured data silos in various storage locations. One major problem is the reliable assignment of NDT data to the correct inspection order or component, and the availability of results to all stakeholders. Particularly, inspection management systems cannot process and evaluate raw data from NDT test equipment or digitally transfer readings directly from the device. This gap is safely filled by a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

The ASTM IT standard DICONDE provides a complete specification of communication interfaces and data formats for implementing a fully digital inspection process. A PACS leverages the features of the standard and enables the modeling and control of a paperless data flow in the context of NDE 4.0. Normative requirements for traceability and reproducibility are solved by a PACS, as well as the intelligent supply of data for AI processes and digital twins.

Join us as Inspectioneering teams up with DIMATE for our webinar, "Intelligent Paperless Inspection with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)." This presentation introduces PACS and demonstrates a paperless inspection process with a PACS using the example of wall thickness measurements on pipes.
