Video Description
A piece of equipment could be subject to multiple forms of degradation, not necessarily just one. Codes, standards, practices, and regulatory alerts tell us we should consider all anticipated forms of damage when evaluating equipment for mechanical integrity and reliability. In this Whiteboard Discussion, Greg Alvarado describes the concept of damage accumulation, or looking at equipment holistically and considering all forms of damage (rather than just a primary damage mechanism) to determine the integrity and remaining life of the equipment.
