6 Injured in Explosion at Lake Charles Petrochemical Complex

An explosion at around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27th at Westlake Chemical's Lake Charles Petrochemical Complex has left six people injured.  All six people were contract employees working on a planned maintenance turnaround, according to company spokesperson Joe Andrepont.  The plant, used in the production of ethylene, was offline for the planned maintenance.  The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
