ASME and dmg events Expand International Pipeline Conference and Exposition at New Location

ASME, April 9, 2024

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and dmg events (Canada) announced a collaboration that brings together the previously sold-out International Pipeline Conference and International Pipeline Exposition into one cohesive event at a new location. The larger meeting and exhibition space at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park in Calgary provides the opportunity to host more than 7,500 conference and exhibition delegates. The biennial pipeline industry event, scheduled for September 23-27, 2024, provides a forum for industry, government, regulators, and the public to learn about leading edge technology in pipeline engineering, and to discuss current and emerging issues facing the international pipeline industry.

The expanded International Pipeline Conference and Expo (IPCE) 2024 promises more panel discussions, research presentations, networking opportunities, a larger exhibit area showcasing innovative technologies from more than 300 exhibitors and for the first time a singular registration system for both the conference and the exhibition. Exhibitor space in the expanded floor plan is already 85% committed and is expected to be at capacity in the coming months. Current committed sponsors and exhibitors include Baker Hughes, Enbridge, NDT Global, Rosen, Stats Group, TC Energy, T.D. Williamson, and more.

“We are thrilled to further our longstanding partnership with ASME as we grow the International Pipeline Conference and Exposition for 2024 and beyond,” said Nick Samain, senior vice president of dmg events. “This exciting new model will enable greater delegate connectivity, enhanced industry networking and more opportunities to meet and get business done at the new BMO Centre at Stampede Park, Canada’s newest world-class convention centre.”

Since 1996, the conference has become a premier platform for fostering collaboration and knowledge transfer in the pipeline industry. Renowned experts and thought leaders present their insights, experiences, and research findings in a rich environment for learning and exchange that covers a wide array of topics and technical tracks including pipeline design, integrity, materials, corrosion, inspection, construction, operation, and energy transition. In 2023, ASME and the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) announced their collaboration to host the next three International Pipeline Conferences in 2024, 2026 and 2028.

“This collaboration between ASME and dmg events, in addition to our partnership with PRCI, puts the already best-in-class IPCE at the very top of must-attend pipeline events worldwide,” said Tim Graves, managing director of technical conferences at ASME. “Whether your work is in research, design, construction and installation, maintenance, operations, or inspection, and whether you are buying or selling in the industry, you will not find a higher caliber mix of sponsors, exhibitors and attendees including C-suite executives to network with throughout the week. Join us to see why IPCE brings attendees from 50+ countries around the world to Calgary every two years.”

"PRCI is excited to join forces with ASME and dmg events to present the IPCE. This collaboration signifies a monumental step forward in uniting the best minds and technologies within the pipeline industry, fostering a space where innovation, safety, and environmental stewardship can flourish,” said PRCI President Cliff Johnson. “Together, we are setting a new benchmark for what is possible in pipeline engineering and management, ensuring that we are not only addressing the current needs of the industry but also anticipating the challenges and opportunities of the future."

IPCE 2024 offers unmatched opportunities for learning, collaboration, and networking to promote innovation and excellence in the global pipeline industry.
