Explosion Rocks Marathon's Garyville Refinery, 6 Injured

An explosion and fire rocked Marathon Petroleum's 578,o00 bpd Garyville Refinery on Monday. According to Marathon spokesperson Joe Gannon, six contract workers were injured in the incident. He said three were treated at the plant and three were treated and released at a health care facility where they were taken as a precaution. The Louisiana facility is located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and is one of the nation's largest refineries. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
