Pinnacle Advanced Reliability Technologies (PinnacleART) has announced the expansion of its advanced nondestructive testing (NDT) inspection team, which now employs two of only 41 American Petroleum Institute (API) Qualification of Ultrasonic Sizing Examiners (QUSE) certification recipients in the world. PinnacleART’s aggressive development in its NDT service line comes as a result of the growing demand from clients for highly-trained, certified and educated inspectors to meet rigorous integrity program processes and procedures.
“PinnacleART has a long-standing reputation of providing clients with the best turnaround and NDT inspection services in the business,” said Brad Wells, PinnacleART vice president of inspection. “With more than 85 collective years of experience in the industry, our expert team of advanced NDT inspectors allows us to expand upon our existing name recognition and take our suite of service offerings to the next level.”
PinnacleART’s latest addition to the NDT team includes 23-year veteran Mike Brown, who has extensive experience in advanced ultrasonic testing with a specific focus on hydrogen induced damage mechanisms. His certifications include an API QUSE, an API Qualification of Ultrasonic Testing Examiners (QUTE) for shear wave testing, and an American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level III. Brown is one of three PinnacleART employees who hold the title of API QUTE, and together the team makes up less than 400 inspectors who hold this title worldwide.
In addition, PinnacleART’s new advanced NDT team come with the following certifications:
- Two API QUSE
- Three API QUTE
- Two ASNT Level III titles in ultrasonic testing
- Two ASNT Level III titles in magnetic particle testing and/or penetrant testing
- Three Level II in film interpretation, who are available to view and grade film
“Our NDT team members are part of an elite group of inspectors worldwide who have such advanced certifications,” added Reggie Thomson, NDT team manager. “While we do have an impressive roster of NDT team members, what sets us apart from competitors is our team’s dedicated, honest and transparent work ethic that we provide to clients. We plan to continually and aggressively expand our inspection department with rope access by the end of 2016, and increase our roster of certifications, which will include a Level II certification in guided ultrasonic long wave testing.”
In addition to PinnacleART’s breadth of equipment, supplies and expertise in NDT, AUT, UT, PT and MT, the team also provides inspection drawing and planning services, on-stream and visual inspections, positive material identification (PMI), quality control vendor surveillance, tank inspections with MFE floor scans and turnaround services, to name a few.
