In today's environmental and legal climate, industry is looking for guarantee high reliability of vessel quality for most chemical fluids. Failures are more costly than in the past due to:
- Environmental laws and requirements
- Emphasis on safety and plant/personnel protection
- Exposure to civil suits and fear of high cost judgments
- Increasing costs of shut downs
In addition, restructuring and downsizing have reduced plant inspection staffs, so plants have an incentive to purchase more reliable and better quality equipment.
Many factors contribute to increased quality including good standards, good design, capable fabricators and good inspection as well as a knowledgeable purchaser. Of course, these factors apply to all equipment including fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) vessels.
