Webinar Description
On June 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. (CST) Greg Alvarado, Solutions Principal at Pinnacle will discuss how risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies are evolving in a post-pandemic world. From it's inception, RBI provides responsible practitioners, within a myriad of competing interests and traditional time-based activities, the ability to see what really needs to be done and when it needs to be done. At the same time, it gives operators options for executing work and shows the risks associated with a particular course of action, as well as the potential reward. Furthermore, RBI minimizes human interaction by optimizing inspection activities (e.g., it can help confidently identify where and when confined space entry is necessary and where it can be avoided).
In this time of sensitivity to social distancing due to Covid 19 and its variants, we have learned to use and become quite adept at the use of remote meeting tools. This has enabled engaged RBI teams to meet and communicate remotely. With the proper up front planning, team members can effectively collaborate from their offices, lowering exposure potentials, not just at the plant, but during the required commute to and from the plant. New collaboration tools allow for effective validation, damage mechanism reviews (DMRs), and inspection planning meetings to take place remotely. This presentation will provide a quick high level overview of the RBI work process as it relates to API RP 580 compliance and highlight the benefits described above.
