Joe Nichols: About the Author

Joe Nichols has been in the Mechanical Integrity field for 7+ years. He graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with a BBA in Marketing. Joe later went to work for Materials Evaluation & Technology Corporation, a contract inspection company, as a Project Manager and Inspector. Joe currently works at Valero’s Port Arthur Refinery in the Reliability and Integrity Unit, as a Senior Inspector where he is assigned to the implementation and ongoing management of the Risk Based Inspection program. He currently holds five API certifications (including the 571 & 580) and one from NACE.
