Colonial Pipeline Restores Major Interstate Pipelines to Safe Operating Conditions Following Hurricane Ida

Colonial Pipeline crews worked safely and efficiently on Monday to restore service to Lines 1 & 2. The two lines – which run from Houston to Greensboro, N.C. – were proactively shutdown as a safety precaution in advance of Hurricane Ida making landfall off the coast of Louisiana. 

This action was part of the company’s routine emergency response plan for severe weather. After receiving clearance to enter the impacted areas, the crews followed rigorous procedures to inspect the infrastructure for integrity and completed all restart protocols. The lines went into operation before midnight on Monday, August 30.

Despite partial shutdown, fuel supply continued to be available throughout the southeast from the numerous terminals located along the supply route.
