Long-Standing Kuwaiti Refinery to be Shuttered in April

Kuwait National Petroleum Company's (KNPC) 200,000 bpd Shuaiba refinery will be shuttered this April after more than 50 years in operation. The closing has been attributed to the outdated design of the facility, and will pave the way for a major clean fuels project, beginning some time next year. In a statement, KNPC said the refinery's curent employees will be transferred to other operations owned by the company.
