INEOS Styrolution Reports Upset at Bayport Plant

INEOS Styrolution has reported an upset at the company's Bayport production facility in Pasadena, Texas. No details on the upset were provided, but INEOS notified local authorities that "intermittent flaring" and the "release of high-pressure steam" may occur while the facility is being stabilized and restarted. The Bayport Plant produces styrene, a basic building block for the production of dispersions, foams and polymers, and has an annual production capacity of 1.7 billion lb/year.
