Dr. Johanna Steinbock: About the Author
Expert Fracture Mechanics Analysis, TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH
After finishing her engineering degree at the Technical University Munich (TUM) in 2004, Dr Johanna Steinbock has been working on her PhD thesis at Bundeswehr University Munich until 2008. Determining the fatigue crack growth behavior of metallic materials during her time as a PhD student, she began working for TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH in Munich in 2010 as an expert in fracture mechanics. Meanwhile she can look back at a work experience in commercial nuclear power of 10 years and FFS assessments for conventional plant equipment of 9 years. She regularly determines fracture mechanics assessment for pressurized components for the critical crack size and the fatigue crack growth, and thus estimates the residual lifetime as well as necessary inspection intervals and inspection technique.
