André Viaud: About the Author
Acoustic Emission Expert, ANVIXED
For over 20 years, Andre Viaud has developed NDT methods for products quality control and in-service equipment (radiography, eddy currents, magnetic particles examination). Since 1998, he has specialized in acoustic emission (AE) techniques. First, he worked at ECW, (Bièvres, France), and later, he obtained (2003) the AE expert position at APAVE GROUP in charge of AE techniques applied to regulatory requalification of pressure vessels. Mr. Viaud has also been an active member of standardization working groups (AFNOR, AFIAP Guide), as well as written numerous AE procedures and a book developing a new approach to AE testing of pressure vessels.
