Dr. James N. Barshinger: About the Author

Dr. James N. Barshinger is co-founder, President & Chief Technology Officer of Sensor Networks, Inc. and based out of its Engineering & Product Design HQ in Boalsburg, PA. Jim received his Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University School of Engineering Science & Mechanics. His doctoral thesis was in Guided Wave Propagation working under Dr. Joseph Rose as his advisor. Jim has been working in the NDT / Ultrasound industry with Krautkramer-Branson, AGFA NDT, GE’s Global Research Center and with GE Inspection Technologies over the past 15 years. At GE Inspection Technologies, Jim held roles of principal engineer and product manager for their installed sensor product line. Jim has extensive experience in ultrasonic transducer design, guided wave ultrasound, nonlinear acoustics and phased array ultrasound.
