Phil Smith: About the Author
Chevron


Mr. Smith was a forty-year employee of Texaco in their Refining Department and their Central Engineering Department. He continues as a consultant with Chevron and the American Petroleum Institute, and has chaired the API AST Sub Group Design and continues to be active in the API Aboveground Storage Tank Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Inspection. Mr. Smith is the immediate past chair of an ASTMif subcommittee on tank issues. He received his BS from the University of Santa Clara, his Masters of Science from Stanford University, and is a veteran of the U.S. Army - Corps of Engineers. In addition, Mr. Smith is an ASCE Fellow and a Chevron Fellow Emeritus
