Thomas started his career in mechanical engineering in 1996, focusing on steam reforming inspection and maintenance. The majority of the work he performed was on reformer tube change outs and outlet header replacement on a wide range of steam reformer designs.In 1999, he joined a reformer tube inspection company, building upon the maintenance expertise he gained and focusing on reformer tube inspection. During this period, he participated in over 325 inspections in the steam reforming industry covering approximately 50,000 tubes inspected in a 12 year period. Thomas joined Quest Integrity Group in mid-2011 as a Technical Advisor for steam reformers. His main functions are to grow the ammonia, methanol, hydrogen and refinery markets for inspection and assessment of steam reformers. He has also been involved in tool, technology and training procedure development.
