Division Manager – IEAC

Becht Engineering is seeking a candidate to manage the company’s I/E/A/C Division. This group provides Instrumentation/Electrical/Analyzer/Controls (I/E/A/C) engineering, consulting, troubleshooting, capital and maintenance project support to the refining, petrochemical, power and other industries on a world-wide basis. The candidate should have experience in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of I/E/A/C equipment used in these industries. A degree in Electrical Engineering or significant equivalent experience is required. A Professional Engineer license is a plus.

The candidate should have exceptional organizational, management and interpersonal skills to manage a large fleet of engineers and specialists deployed to support our clients. Experience as a I/E/A/C Manager for a major operating company is a plus. Becht Engineering has offices throughout the US and Canada. The position location can be adapted to a candidate's preference and will report through our Engineering Vice President.

General duties and requirements of the position include:

  • Management, deployment and oversight of a fleet of I/E/A/C engineers and specialists on a variety of assignments including capital and maintenance projects, turnarounds, emergency troubleshooting and training.
  • Attendance to industry events and standards meetings for both recruitment of staff and business development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to evaluate client needs and skills of our staff to assure an excellent match and project success.
  • Business development and client contact skills in the I/E/A/C area.
  • Ability to work effectively with Becht Engineering Executive, Administrative, Advisor Resources and Engineering personnel.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, business development and industry events. Expected travel is up to 40%.
  • Ability to track jobs, manage budgets and provide feedback to clients and staffs on specific jobs.
  • Ability to provide technical oversight on our I/E/A/C work.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and recruit staff.
