Webinar Overview
A Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodology, as outlined in API RP 581, involves the determination of a probability of failure (POF) combined with the consequence of failure (COF). When calculating POF, the Damage Factor (DF) is used to evaluate the potential presence of one or more damage mechanisms on in-service equipment and the inspection effectiveness. A highly effective inspection program utilizes advanced tools, such as robotic-based techniques, to accurately identify and quantify damage through improved coverage, data density, reproducibility, and repeatability, thereby increasing the confidence of inspection effectiveness and POF calculations.
Inspectioneering has teamed up with Chase David, Customer Success and NDT Technology Manager and Quinn Holub, Oil & Gas Business Development Manager from Gecko Robotics to discuss how robotic inspection tools can impact Damage Factor calculations when compared to traditional methods. Specifically, they will focus on the inspection effectiveness of different techniques and remaining life assessments for equipment susceptible to general thinning, localized thinning, and environmental cracking, supported by case studies from around the industry.
