API RP 75 - Developing a Safety and Environmental Management Program for Offshore Operations
API RP 75, Developing a Safety and Environmental Management Program for Offshore Operations and Facilities, 3rd Edition, is a recommended practice published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) that provides guidance for preparing safety and environmental management programs for oil, gas, and sulphur operations and facilities located on the outer continental shelf (OCS). These guidelines are applicable to well drilling, servicing, and production; and pipeline facilities and operations that have the potential for creating a safety or environmental hazard at OCS platform sites. Identification and management of safety and environmental hazards are addressed in design, construction, startup, operation, inspection, and maintenance of new, existing, and modified facilities.
The U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement's (BSEE) Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) regulation is modeled after and incorporates elements of API RP 75.
