API RP 588, Recommended Practice for Source Inspection and Quality Surveillance of Fixed Equipment is a recommended practice developed and published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) that provides the basic body of knowledge for inspectors performing fixed equipment source inspection. The document covers the process of specifying necessary quality surveillance of materials, equipment, and fabrication being supplied for use in the oil & gas industry.
The first and current edition of this document was released in July, 2019.
