Pipe Supports

Explore this topic

Pipe Supports, or pipe hangers, are any structures used to support a pipe's deadweight, restrain a pipe's movement, or protect a pipe from structural interference. The primary purpose behind pipe hangers in an industrial setting is to provide support, anchor, and guide piping, and/or absorb the vibrations created during operation.[1]

Pipe supports can range from simple supports, like wooden railroad ties, to complex engineered products made from any number of materials, including structural steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and ductile iron. [2]
