ExxonMobil's Beaumont complex in Texas has completed the largest oil refinery expansion in over a decade, with 26 miles of piping, 35 miles of electrical wiring, and 875 tons of steel added to the facility. The expansion increases the refinery's total processing capacity to over 630,000 barrels per day and added 250,000 barrels per day to its oil output, enough to fuel 61,000 long-haul trucks per day.
The project cost around $2 billion and was completed on time and on budget, with ExxonMobil earning two consecutive Gold Energy Star acknowledgments from the Environmental Protection Agency for its environmental efforts.
