Exxon Mobil Corp plans to complete an overhaul of a gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC) at its 502,500 barrel-per-day (bpd) Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refinery by April 5, sources familiar with plant operations said on Thursday.

Exxon shut the 110,000-bpd PCLA 3 FCC on Feb. 25 for the overhaul, which was scheduled to take seven weeks to complete.

"The Baton Rouge Refinery has shut down some of its units and associated operations for planned maintenance," said Exxon spokesperson Julie King on Thursday. "We have communicated this turnaround to our customers and expect to meet all contractual commitments."

The firm also plans to shut in April a 45,000-bpd diesel hydrotreater for planned work that will last until mid-June, the sources said.

PCLA 3 is one of two 110,000-bpd FCCs at the refinery.
