The National Insulation Association Offers Energy Appraisals and Insulation Inspection Certifications for the Construction Industry

National Insulation Association (NIA), January 3, 2022

As the insulation industry’s leader in education, the National Insulation Association (NIA) is committed to increasing understanding of the power of insulation for the construction industry and insulation end users.

Insulation is a proven method for reducing carbon and GHG emissions while saving energy, increasing process productivity, providing a safer and more productive work environment, and supporting sustainable design goals, among a host of other benefits. “From saving energy to improving efficiency to reducing carbon emissions, the insulation industry and NIA’s certifications are part of the energy conservation solution,” said NIA Executive Vice President/CEO Michele M. Jones.

As part of its education initiative, NIA offers a range of courses from beginner to advanced, including two certification-level courses for experienced insulation professionals. The Thermal Insulation Inspector Certification™ educates participants on how to evaluate installation work and determine whether it is compliant with specifications, and the Insulation Energy Appraisal Program™ provides training on how to determine the optimal insulation thickness and the corresponding energy and dollar savings for a project. NIA’s two certifications provide the tools for certified professionals to offer a data-backed mechanism to quantify insulation’s remarkable ROI and for inspectors to examine insulation installations and to identify potential areas of concern during initial installation or ongoing operations

Upcoming course dates include:
