Refining NZ Confirms Marsden Point Refinery will Transition to Import Terminal in 2022

Radio New Zealand, November 23, 2021

Refining New Zealand has confirmed the company will transition its Marsden Point Refinery to an import-only fuel terminal beginning in April 2022, after securing long-term supply agreements with its key customers.

"After 60-years of operations as New Zealand's only oil refinery, we look back on the past with pride and look to the future with confidence that our business will continue to contribute to our community, and New Zealand, long into the future," said chief executive Naomi James.

As part of the transformation, the company will change its name to Channel Infrastructure and position itself as New Zealand’s leading independent fuel infrastructure company.
