In Montgomery County alone, there are approximately 85,000 food insecure residents, 40% of which are children, that don’t know when and where they will have their next meal. Last week, a group from Inspectioneering had the privilege of volunteering at the Montgomery County Food Bank (MCFB) and helped prepare hundreds of boxes filled with fruits and vegetables for distribution to those in need.
Over the course of a few hours, Inspectioneering helped sort and pack up 6,000 pounds of food, which equates to roughly 5,000 meals headed directly to families in our local community.
“It was an eye opening experience,” said Jeremiah Wooten, Managing Partner at Inspectioneering. “To know that there are so many people suffering from hunger in our ‘backyard’ is heartbreaking.”
“It was very rewarding to see our team come together to support the good people at the MCFB, because we know the impact these meals will have in our community,” he added.
