Two people were taken to a hospital after an oil storage tank exploded near the Texas A&M University Galveston campus, according to Galveston city spokeswoman Marissa Barnett.
Their injuries are not life threatening, she said. They were working around the tank at the time of the explosion, she said. A shelter-in-place order was issued for the campus while firefighters tackled the blaze with foam.
