Marathon to Invest $1.2B into Upgrading Galveston Bay Refinery

Marathon Petroleum will reportedly spend $1.2 billion over the next 3 years upgrading its 585,000 bpd Galveston Bay Refinery. These planned improvements are part of ongoing program to integrate and modernize the company's Texas refineries.  According to an investor presentation filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the upgrade project will add 40,000 bpd of crude capacity to the refinery and generate an estimated $525 million in earnings each year.
