UK's Stanlow Oil Refinery Experiences Large Explosion, Fire

Essar Oil's 296,000 bpd Stanlow Refinery was hit by a large explosion and fire on Wednesday afternoon. Essar said that 900 staff and 500 contractors work at the site, which supplies 16% of all road transport fuels. The company went on to say that "all personnel have been accounted for... and refinery operations at Stanlow remain unaffected."  The cause of the incident is under further investigation.
