Sinopec Starts Catalytic Cracking Unit Construction at JV Refinery with Kuwait

Sinopec has begun construction of a 4.2-million-tonnes per year catalytic cracking unit at the Sino-Kuwait Guangdong refinery project, the company newspaper said on Friday.  Sinopec expects to complete the cracking project sometime in September of this year. The first phase of the Sino-Kuwait refinery is expected to have 10 million tonnes in crude refining capacity and 800,000 tonnes of ethylene annual production capacity.
