Maintenance Planned for Shell's Norco, LA Chemical Plant

Reuters, November 29, 2017

Royal Dutch Shell Plc is reportedly planning to shut a portion of an olefins unit at its Norco, Louisiana, chemical plant next week to overhaul a heat exchanger, sources familiar with plant operations said. Shell spokesman Ray Fisher declined to discuss operations at the chemical plant, but said the company routinely planned maintenance for the safe operation of its equipment. Shell told nearby residents on Monday that upcoming maintenance at the Norco complex, which includes a 225,800-barrel-per-day (bpd) crude oil refinery, may cause loud rumbling.
