Pipeline Expansions in Northeastern U.S. Boost Industry Outlook

With nearly $14 billion in natural gas pipeline expansion projects planned for the Northeastern United States, producers and buyers both stand to benefit. The $13.8 billion infrastructure build-out involves seven large pipeline proposals that will transport gas from the Appalachian region in all directions.  Five of these projects have already received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The much needed infrastructure should boost profits for gas producers in the region, while helping hold down prices for Midwest and East Coast buyers.
