MPLX LP filed a petition with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Wednesday seeking permission to expand its Ozark Pipeline, a 433-mile, 22-inch crude oil pipeline originating in Cushing, Oklahoma and terminating in Wood River, Illinois, capable of transporting approximately 230,000 barrels per day (bpd). MPLX expects the commission to act by May 10, and the additional capacity could be available in the second quarter of 2018. On Monday, an MPLX subsidiary agreed to purchase Ozark pipeline, currently owned by Enbridge Inc, for about $220 million.
