LyondellBasell Plans to Retain Houston Refinery after Asset Review

Reuters, January 5, 2017

LyondellBasell said on Thursday that it would retain its 264,000 bpd Houston-area refinery following a review of strategic options for the business.  "During the normal course of business it is not unusual for a company to periodically review its asset portfolio," said Michael Waldron, vice president of corporate communications for LyondellBasell.

In August of last year, Reuters reported that the company was considering divesting the facility, and that Valero Energy Corp., Saudi Aramco, Cenovus Energy Inc., and Suncor Energy Inc. are were among numerous interested buyers.
