Meridian Energy Moving Forward with Plans to Build 55,000 bpd North Dakota Refinery, October 12, 2016

Meridian Energy Group has filed an application with the North Dakota Department of Health's Air Quality Division for permits to build the company's previously announced 55,000 bpd Davis refinery near Bellfield, ND.  Meridian's application was the first in history to seek permitting to construct a complex refinery classified as a synthetic minor source (SMS) of air contaminants, rather than a major source of air pollution. Meridian officials have claimed the Davis Refinery will be the most environmentally sustainable refinery ever built. Meridian Energy CEO Bill Prentice said the refinery is still on schedule to become operational in early 2018 and added that he hopes the permitting process moves moves along without interruptions.
