Fire strikes Hexion's Deer Park plant; no injuries reported

A fire broke out Wednesday morning at Hexion Inc.'s plant in Deer Park, Texas, prompting the city to order a shelter-in-place for nearby residents. According to Hexion spokesperson Ray Fisher, "around 8:15 a.m. a fire started at the Hexion plant in Deer Park, Texas. Hexion sits within Shell Deer Park’s facility. All Hexion employees are accounted for at this time. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes, and fire crews are standing by to provide additional support." No injuries were reported in the incident and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
