PBF Energy Facing Potential Fines for Delaware Refinery Chemical Leaks

PBF Energy may be facing up to $20,000 in fines stemming from two equipment leaks at the company's 190,000 bpd Delaware City Refinery. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has issued a notice of violation for both incidents, which leaked nearly 16 tons of potentially toxics chemicals into the air.  In spite of the citations, PBF Energy spokeswoman Lisa Lindsey assured the community "that our Delaware City team is dedicated to operating the refinery in an environmentally responsible manner and continuously reducing emissions from the plant.”
