FHR Planning $150 Million Cogeneration Project at Minnesota Refinery

Flint Hills Resources, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., is planning a $150 million cogeneration project at the company's 339,000 bpd Pine Bend refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota. The new project, expected to begin later this year, will bring combined heat and power (CHP) generation and add new technology to capture sulfur at the plant. These upgrades will allow the facility to run more efficiently, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and meet the EPA's standard for removing sulfur from gasoline.
