Construction Begins on $3.8 Billion Dakota Access Pipeline

Construction is underway on the Dakota Access Pipeline, an 1,150 mile oil pipeline crossing North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. The pipeline will soon be transporting approximately 500,000 barrels of crude from the Bakken oil fields to a storage terminal in Southern Illinois. Dakota Access, LLC, a unit of Energy Transfer Partners, said that they are trying to get all pipeline construction completed before winter hits.
