Introduction
Last November, Inspectioneering and Pinnacle co-hosted their 8th 'Meeting of the Minds' (MOTM) roundtable discussion in Orlando, Florida. This bi-annual meeting brings together a select group of leading mechanical integrity (MI) experts to discuss pertinent topics related to fixed equipment reliability and share their personal experiences and opinions. As with previous meetings, participants come from various sectors of the industry, including refining, petrochemicals, offshore production, and chemical processing.
You may recall from previous MOTM recap articles that these discussions have covered topics like emerging technologies, corrosion under insulation (CUI) programs, integrity operating windows (IOWs), corrosion control documents (CCDs), risk-based inspection (RBI), the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on mechanical integrity programs, and most recently, piping RBI and the challenges operators are facing properly implementing it. In this meeting, we explored some of the major projects in equipment integrity and reliability our attendees had recently completed, as well as some of their high-priority projects for the near future.
Recent “Big Wins”
We kicked off the discussion by asking the group to share any recent “big wins” at their facilities from a fixed equipment reliability perspective, as well as any key lessons learned from their experience.
