In this first part of a two-part article, I will outline a process that our company uses to review and measure the effectiveness of our pressure equipment integrity management process. Then in Part 2, next issue, I will “fill in the blanks” on some specific issues that we measure.
One of the important aspects of our quest for optimum pressure equipment integrity (PEI) at our refining and chemical manufacturing sites, is the process we use to measure our progress towards our own internal standard of PEI excellence. For the purposes of this article, pressure equipment includes all pressurized, stationary equipment, including vessels, exchangers, piping systems, relief devices, and storage tanks.
