U.S. DOE and Chemical Manufacturers Association (CMA) Sign Responsible Care Agreement

The August 1 signing allows the DOE (Department of Energy) direct access to all Responsible Care resource materials, workshops, seminars, regional meetings, newsletters and on-line services. Responsible Care references/covers mechanical integrity and inspection aspects in addition to many others related to the safe and responsible operating of chemical facilities.

"We're extremely pleased that DOE has recognized the value of Responsible Care," Fred Webber, president and CEO of CMA said. "We know Responsible Care has improved the performance of the chemical industry - it's now being implemented in 42 countries - and are convinced it will enable the Department of Energy to continuously improve its health, safety and environmental performance as well."
