Update on California Underground Storage (UST) Tank Clean-Up Policy

This article appears in the May/June 1996 issue of Inspectioneering Journal

The Inspectioneering Journal was one of the first news sources to report on the results of this study in the Jan/Feb 1996 issue. An article in the Los Angeles Times, in January, stated that California Governor Pete Wilson ordered a halt to UST cleanup activities in California. Teleconferences are being held on a frequent basis at various California sites. To participate in the teleconferences or to obtain a copy of the landmark report contact the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory office in Sacramento, CA at phone: 916/657-0941. In addition, see the referenced journal issue for a more detailed summary. This study recommended a Risk Based decision making process.

The "IJ" will provide more details in the future.
