About You

Invert Robotics Inc. is looking for an NDT Inspector with at least 5+ years’ experience in the (Petro) Chemical industry preferably from the Houston area. Our operators/inspectors are the eyes of the robot using remote control to perform the Non-Destructive testing on the surface. You possess a good understanding of the maintenance processes in the (Petro) Chemical industry. You are customer-focused, and you enjoy working in a high-energy environment. The position requires travel primarily across North America and during peak demand potentially from one of our offices in New Zealand or Netherlands.

  • You value safety above everything else.
  • Strong individual with a broad understanding of the challenges and dynamics in the NDT/Inspection market.
  • You are a highly organized and process-driven individual
  • You possess of a valid clean driving licence.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, fluent in English, Spanish is a plus.
  • Travel across North America is not an issue for you.
  • You are skilled with the various Microsoft Office products.
  • You have an affection for robotics and interest to assist in further developing both NDT inspection techniques and our robotic platform.
  • You are knowledgeable in industry standards and recommended practices (API, ASNT, ASME, NACE etc.)
  • At minimun you have a valid VT level II and UT level II certification. Detailed knowledge on Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Eddy Current and Phased Array testing are a big plus.


About the role

Invert Robotics Inc. is entering the North American market and you will be one of the first NDT Operators / Inspectors joining the local team. You will closely work with the Sales Manager USA and the other Inspection Technicians throughout the company. This position is based in Houston, Texas and will report to the Sales Manager.

As the future NDT Inspector, you will be expected to perform several duties. 

  • Assist in the marketing of our new and innovative robot crawler platform, various inspection techniques and repair services to maintenance and innovation teams on location.
  • Prepare upcoming jobs, both technically and administratively.
  • Travel as required to customer job sites to perform inspection services.
  • You will be a sparring partner for the maintenance crew on site, pointing out your findings during the job.
  • Write detailed inspection reports and share/present these to our customers.
  • Perform maintenance of our robotics inspection equipment.
  • Participate in the companies continuous R&D efforts.
  • Ensure that all testing procedures and policies are up to date and conform USA Industry standards
  • Prepare and present demonstrations for customers and at trade shows and seminars.   As a company, we work closely with industry bodies like ASNT, ASME and API. Invert Robotics is also in good standing with Robotics interest groups like Inspectioneering and SPRINT Robotics
