Senior Integrity Optimization Engineer

Quest Integrity, a global leader in inspection and engineering services, is seeking a Senior Integrity Optimization Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical expertise related to inspection, assessment and optimization of fired equipment assets primarily in, but not limited to, the process refinery industry. Phases of this job may be carried out at the local regional office, other regional offices located worldwide, or at the client’s job site. As a senior engineer, this position emphasizes the bundling between all of the Quest offerings, both inspection and engineering services.

The position reports to Boulder, CO. Location is flexible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide consulting services related to the optimization management of fired equipment that includes performance and reliability optimization, fitness for service and remaining life assessment, risk assessment, and failure analysis.
  • Provide technical and training consulting services with respect to CorrectIR application and implementation, including management of assigned client licenses.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior Assessment Engineers
  • Maintain proficiencies in other Advanced Engineering service roles as applicable (e.g. Metallurgical and Materials Engineer, Laboratory testing, Assessment Engineer) and provide project support for other business teams as requested.
  • Engage in and contribute to business development within Process Inspection and other business teams as requested.
  • Provide technical and project management support to Advanced Engineering and other business teams as requested.
  • Manage client expectations and delivery of services and communicate to client results and recommendations.
  • Independently seek out technical knowledge that establishes industry credibility and subject matter expertise in fired equipment by presenting and participating in industry recognized conferences, training and events.
  • Provide recommendations to drive improvement in processes, technical solutions, inspection and assessment technology, and software applications.
  • Act in accordance with company policies required as part of the engineering optimization deliverable activities.
  • Comply with all local governmental requirements as set forth to perform required duties.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • MS or BS in related engineering field. 
  • 5+ years of petrochemical and/or refinery experience.
  • Knowledge of internationally recognized design codes and industry standards on inspection and assessment services for process equipment, including API and ASME.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and problem solving skills in process industry environments.
  • Demonstrated ability of making independent decisions/recommendations which can have immediate or time dependent consequences associated with process equipment optimization.
  • Requires excellent ability to represent the company in a professional manner with regard to communicating and interfacing with clients and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Must be customer focused, have an excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills; traditional software applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and easily adapt to proprietary software applications.
  • Must be proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • Travel requirement: 30%.
  • In order to comply with customer requirements for the use of respirators while on site performing inspections, the candidate must be willing to remove facial hair.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment with visits to industry environments.
