Webinar: Insights from Creep Testing of Service-Exposed Components

Stress Engineering Services, April 20, 2021

Creep testing of service-exposed components is frequently employed to assess existing creep damage in the material and to obtain creep properties for use in remaining life assessment of the component in question. In this 1-hour webinar, scheduled for 1:00 PM CDT on April 20th, Dr. Arun Sreeranganthan focuses on insights learned from creep testing of service-exposed components from the petrochemical industry. Case studies will be used to demonstrate how creep strain and/or rupture data from testing can be used in conjunction with API 579-1 creep data to predict the remaining life of the component. Dr. Sreeranganthan will also demonstrate through examples the effect of elevated temperature exposure on the material microstructure and the creep properties and correlations between the two.
