Are you wondering if your inspection department is adequately staffed to handle the pressure equipment at your facility? The "Pressure Equipment Inspector Staffing" report by Inspectioneering provides you with valuable insights and benchmarks to evaluate your current inspection staffing levels.

About the Report

This comprehensive report offers a detailed analysis of fixed equipment mechanical integrity (FEMI) inspection department staffing in relation to the quantity of pressure equipment for which your facility inspectors are responsible. By comparing your staffing levels to industry standards, you can validate your current resources or make a strong case for additional support.

Please note that while we have taken great care to ensure the accuracy and quality of the report, Inspectioneering does not provide any express or implied warranties regarding the information contained within. The data presented should be used strictly for informational purposes.

The primary focus of this benchmarking survey and report is to answer the fundamental question: "How many pieces of pressure equipment are my pressure equipment inspectors responsible for?" To address this, we introduce the Pressure Equipment to Inspector Ratio (PE/I), which quantifies the number of pressure equipment pieces each inspector is accountable for. For instance, a PE/I of 200 indicates that an inspector handles approximately 200 pressure equipment units within a facility. It's important to note that this report specifically concentrates on pressure equipment and does not include data or analysis related to piping or non-pressure equipment.

A Note on Data Quality

When performing statistical analysis, a sufficient sample size is crucial. This report includes industry-specific sections on oil refining, chemical/petrochemicals, and specialty/other chemicals. These industries have received numerous submissions and exhibit an acceptable variance in their data. However, we have excluded data from other facility types due to either a small sample size or significant variance. Unless your facility closely aligns with the three included industries in terms of process units and staffing approaches, we recommend using this data cautiously.
