Overview
Corrosion can develop in a number of forms. The specific form is dependent on the environment in which a piece of equipment is operating. In equipment, especially piping, one of the most common damage mechanisms is Touch Point Corrosion (TPC), also referred to as Corrosion Under Pipe Supports (CUPS).
When left undetected, touch point corrosion increases operability risk due to the possibility of unforeseen damage to assets. This can result in serious health, safety, and environment (HSE) consequences, including equipment failure, injuries, and loss of life. Also, unplanned shutdown (emergency) time for repairs are always costly and can often be easily avoided.
TEAM’s integrated TPC program manages all aspects of the integrity process from screening for damage to permanent repair assuring integrity – every time. This unique turn-key approach to TPC eliminates the need for operators to deal with multiple contractors, ensuring seamless integrity management of critical assets.
