If you're not already aware, Inspectioneering has started publishing Asset Intelligence Reports, condensed primers and overviews for various topics related to asset integrity management and inspection. The first report was published and made available last week, covering magnetic particle testing. If you haven't downloaded it already, you can do so here.
The second report in this series is titled "A Primer on High Temperature Hydrogen Attack (HTHA)" and it contains the following sections:
- An overview of the damage mechanism;
- Areas susceptible to HTHA damage;
- An introduction to the Nelson Curve;
- Methods of prevention/mitigation;
- Effective inspection techniques;
- Codes, standards, and best practices; and
- Further reading
This report is not intended to serve as a comprehensive resource for HTHA. Rather, it is just as the title suggests: a HTHA primer. Since the information is provided in a condensed format, we recommend printing and laminating copies that can be referenced by you and your co-workers at your convenience.
If you'd like to find more in-depth information regarding HTHA, including case studies, you should visit the HTHA Topic Page on Inspectioneering. Within that section of our site, you'll find numerous articles written by industry experts, as well as related news, events, and job postings.
